Subconscious
The subconscious mind hovers behind the radar of our being, yet it affects thoughts, feelings, and actions. This painting presents an idea of three subconscious thoughts that exist below and above the richness of blue in the human life, that of sky and water. They are floating, waiting to be validated, calling out to be tapped for a useful purpose.
Life, Growth, Passion and Death
We absorb the brightness and blue of life through sight, sound, taste, and smell— all inhaled within the structure of a head form. The growth and greening in life, supported by the frame of our shoulders, carry our burdens, while passion with its trademark of powerful red, emits emotion that brings us to our knees. Our feet, closest to the earth during our lives, sense the landscape below and are the first to sense the coldness of death at the given moment.
